International Women's Day 2023: #EmbraceEquity
International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on March 8th every year. This day is dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and also serves as a call to action for gender parity.
Why is this day so important? The importance of the women's rights movement cannot be overstated. For many years, women have been subjected to discrimination and inequality in different aspects of life, including education, employment, and political representation.
Women's rights activists and advocates have fought tirelessly to ensure that women have equal opportunities and access to resources, including health care, education, and economic opportunities.
How can we improve? One of the ways that workplaces can contribute to the advancement of gender equity is by embracing diversity and inclusivity in their hiring practices. This means actively seeking to recruit and retain employees of different genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. This not only creates a more vibrant and dynamic workplace culture but also fosters a sense of belonging among employees and promotes innovation and creativity.
At our company, we are proud to say that our team is made up of 66% women from diverse backgrounds. We believe that a diverse team makes for a stronger company and allows us to better serve our customers. Our hiring practices are focused on creating a level playing field for all candidates, regardless of gender or other personal characteristics.
In addition to our hiring practices, we also have a company-wide PSP (personal sustainability program) that encourages all employees to prioritize their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. We believe that by promoting self-care and mindfulness, we can create a more balanced and equitable workplace culture that supports all employees, including women.
The company continues to grow and we are excited to share that we are hiring now! Visit our careers page for more details.
IWD is a reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equity and the importance of creating inclusive and diverse workplaces. Our company is committed to advancing these values by prioritizing diversity in our hiring practices and promoting personal sustainability for all employees. We hope that more workplaces will join us in this effort to create a more equitable world for all.
